It's hard for us Cantonese Diaspora to learn Mandarin. I was in the same boat. Unable to speak Mandarin.

The language felt like it should be easy to learn because I spoke Cantonese, but yet every single basic class, tutor and app I used made it seem impossible.

This frustrated me. Looking back now, the reason is because all these learning methods were made for gwai los.

As Cantonese Speakers, we shouldn't have to start from "ni hao", yet we're put in the same class as the gwai los and taught in the same way.

Our goal is to help fellow Cantonese Speakers who want to get closer to their roots, learn Mandarin smarter, faster, and easier.

In most cases, the questions takes around 5 minutes. Because these are personalized guides, we do need a bit more than a one-word answer so that we don't give you some generic, general, one-size fits all resource. It could be done in 5, or done in 10 minutes depending on how in depth you go into your answers. Obviously, the more you provide, the more helpful it will be for our team to give you a proper guide.

Of course! The questions can be answered in your own time and in your own space. You don't need to talk to anyone. The only thing we need you to do is record answers to our questions (which you don't need to have video on for). We'll then listen to your answers in order to give you a proper guide based on your pronunciation and speaking.

You just need to be in a quiet place and either be on your phone or laptop. You will be recording your voice so we can listen to you speak, so ideally don't have a lot of things going on around you. If there's a lot of sounds in the background, it will be hard for our team to hear your pronunciation and give you a proper guide based on your level.

Once you get your results, you'll receive a guide from us with action steps and resources that you can take to learn.

Our Guide is based on your existing Cantonese level, and will factor in your skills in Cantonese in areas like speaking, listening and reading in order to properly place you in Mandarin. If you speak some Cantonese and no Mandarin, you're not an absolute beginner and we understand that. We understand that you don't want to be studying "ni hao" because you already know "nei hou" in Cantonese. We take all this into account.
